The Office of Inspector General (OIG) suggests monthly exclusion checks of Federal databases (LEIE & SAM), and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) require monthly checks of both Federal and state databases. In addition, provider agreements in some states require certification that no employee, contractor, or vendor is, or has ever been, excluded from any State or Federal database.
